釹鐵硼（péng），簡單來講是一種（zhǒng）磁鐵，含有大（dà）量的稀土元素釹、以及鐵及硼，其特性硬而脆。釹鐵硼作為稀土永磁材料的一種具有極（jí）高的（de）磁能（néng）積和矯頑力，同時高能量密（mì）度的優點使釹鐵硼永磁材料（liào）在現代工（gōng）業和電子技術中獲得了（le）廣泛（fàn）應用，從而使儀器儀表、電聲電機、磁選磁化等設備（bèi）的小型化、輕量化、薄型化成（chéng）為可能。

由於表麵極易被氧化腐蝕，釹鐵硼必須（xū）進行表麵塗層處理。表麵化學鈍化是很好的解決方法之一（yī）。

NdFeB, which is simply a magnet, contains a large amount of rare earth element lanthanum, as well as iron and boron, and its characteristics are hard and brittle. As a kind of rare earth permanent magnet material, NdFeB has the extremely high magnetic energy product and coercive force, and the high energy density makes NdFeB permanent magnet material widely used in modern industrial and electronic technology, thus making it possible to miniaturize, lightweight and thin, in the instrument of electroacoustic motors, and magnetic separation magnetization.

Because of the surface highly susceptible to oxidative corrosion, NdFeB surface must be coated. Surface chemical passivation is one of the best solutions.
